Friday 13th April 2012 - Week 6

Well, here I am back at University after having a week off.  I am very glad I did  some work over the break because I feel a little behind as it is.

Today being Friday I am going over what we will be doing in Week 7 in one of my courses.  It is all about Stress Management.  Luckily, I already do a lot of what is suggested.  Having the reminder is very good though so one day, when I look back over this I want to remember to look in my STEPS folder at Week 7 because I am sure I am going to need to read all these tips again.

I will write more over the weekend about what happened this week but for now I want to share a video that we were asked to look at.

I laughed so much when I saw it, and do you want to know why?  The entire time through it I was thinking, "yeah, that makes sense - nothing odd here".  Then when it finished I realised the reason I was agreeing was because IT IS ME!!!  Not every day, but wow I could really relate to it.  Oh well, if you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at...

Saturday 14th April

Well, here I am on Saturday trying to do my Excel activities so I am ready for the assessment and I find myself  here procrastinating again!

I wanted to reflect a little on something that was brought up in our Stress activity in PSU - First World Problems.

If you do a google search on the subject and filter to images you will see some really silly ones like "I left my socks on when I walked on the wet bathroom floor and now my socks are wet".

This site has a great compilation of examples.

On a serious side, would it hurt us to really look at what it is that bothers us on a daily basis?  Think about what is bothering you right now.  Perhaps you forgot to buy milk and have to drive to the shops.  Add to that, maybe its also raining.  This is something that has bothered me in the past and I have a little spat but since reading all these blogs and images (most of the pictures have captions) I am feeling really silly.  There are so many other things that could occupy our time so why do we "sweat the small stuff"?.
